Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Nebraska Eye Institute the leading provider of vision care products and services in Lincoln.


Dr. Douglas C. Rienks

Dr. Rienks graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1991. Dr. Rienks’ special interests are working with children, geriatrics, primary eye care, ocular disease and contact lenses. Dr. Rienks’ community involvement includes member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, and Yankee Hill Country Club. He has a wife, Linda, and two children, Alexis and Nicholas. Dr. Rienks is active in the American Optometric Association and Nebraska Optometric Association. Dr. Rienks began practice in Denison, Iowa where he was for 10 years before moving back to Nebraska for family reasons.


Dr. Kelsey Daberkow

Dr. Daberkow is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated from the University of Lincoln – Nebraska with her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Health Sciences with a minor in Psychology. She then received her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee graduating Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Daberkow completed an externship at Omaha Eye and Laser Institute where she received training with an emphasis in anterior and posterior segment diseases as well as co-management for surgical cases. She also completed an externship at Heartland Eye Consultants where she got further training in ocular disease management and saw many pediatric patients, binocular vision disorders, and vision disorders from concussion/brain injuries. With this comprehensive training, Dr. Daberkow is excited to serve patients of any age with any ocular concerns at Nebraska Eye Institute.

Dr. Daberkow is an active member of the Nebraska Optometric Association (NOA) and the American Optometry Association (AOA). Outside of professional pursuits, she is an avid Husker fan, enjoys staying active, sand volleyball, traveling, live music, and spending time with friends and family.


Linda Rienks – Office Manager

Linda Rienks has been with the practice as an office manager for 6 years. Her first concern is making sure the office will be running properly! Linda’s background is in the field of education, as she was a teacher for 20 years before coming to Nebraska Eye Institute. Linda has been married to Doug for 19 years and has two children, Alexis and Nicholas. Linda’s hobbies include running, watching her kids in their many activities, attending collegiate athletic events, and golfing when the spare minutes present themselves.
